Thank You All PDXTech4Good Attendees!

We were really happy with how the presentation went, covered a mountain of material in 28 minutes, finishing 2 mins early and there were lots of great questions from everyone! Of course a half an hour is only long enough to scratch the surface on the topic of change engagement.  Just wanted to reiterate here how thankful we were for each and every attendee who came out to listen, participate and share. The zero was elated so many people showed up to hear our thoughts on the evolution at intersection of change management and social media. Time is such a valuable resource for everyone in this era of always on, constant digital connectedness. We really appreciate giving us your time and attention on a night with so many PDX events happening.

[This Is OSCON]

OSCON_2010_7631_web1024

OSCON 2010 – the Open Source Convention was held from July 19th-23rd at the Oregon Convention Center in downtown PDX. As a convention that claims to be all open source and stuff we were honestly not quite sure what to expect from this one (we prefer quality over quantity). For claiming to being “open source” the convention it was very very expensive compared to other PDX / Portland centric open source events like OS Bridge and a few others.

It was worth making a day of it and showing up to be present in the open source community and check out new open source software solutions, causes, groups and organizations. Also, it was a huge convergence of insanely smart and extremely motivated geeks working on some pretty cool code and integration projects.

ZS got to demo some new software we had not seen yet and talk with several local user group organizers that we had been wanting to connect with for awhile all in one place, at one time. That made it worth the day trip. Even though we had to endure some very very very bad marketers and marketing tactics employed there (need we mention the toilet paper or the Facebook booth) were utter #FAILS.

Got to take the rough with the smooth sometimes, besides I needed more OSS stickers for my laptop! :)
